5 Tips to Help ENFPs Conquer Procrastination

Everyone procrastinates sometimes, but ENFPs have a natural talent for it. One of the 16 personality types identified by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, a test that pinpoints a person’s personality by determining their preference in four dichotomies discussed in Carl Jung’s theories, ENFPs naturally favor extroversion, intuition, feeling and perceiving. Innovative and quick to latch onto new ideas, ENFPs have a tendency to focus more on the possibilities that excite them than the responsibilities that bore them. If you are an ENFP, conquering procrastination and accomplishing necessary tasks in a timely matter may be tough, but you can do it by following these five tips.

1. Break Big Projects Into Small Ones

With the next great idea always just around the corner, it is no wonder that ENFPs often have a difficult time maintaining their focus on just one thing for a lengthy period of time. To put an end to the problem of projects that get started and then abandoned unfinished, break big projects down into smaller ones that can be accomplished more quickly. After you complete your project, switch to something new. Alternating tasks allows ENFPs to enjoy the stimulation of starting something fresh and makes it easier to get things accomplished.

2. Take Control of Your Environment

Each interruption creates the opportunity for distraction, and distractions can quickly lead to procrastination, especially for ENFPs. However, having a meeting with a friend or personal trainer ups the odds that you will fit the exercise into your day. 4. Schedule Time for Idea Development

While they often lead to procrastination, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking are ENFP strengths.
